No Agenda!

Have I mentioned how I absolutely adore having no plans or projects scheduled on the Weekend. Well, I love it for many reasons....but one of them is that daddy is always obliged to make his perfect pancakes. I say perfected because ever since the first time he made them for me in college and we had to throw them out because they were completely unedible.....he has made it his life's mission to be able to make the "perfect pancake." Saturday's was particularly special because he made Mickey mint chocololate chip ones. The kids were thrilled! We then decided to go head out on a little bike extravaganza where Daddy with the help of a paint stick patiently helped Grace and Elijah practice riding their bikes without their training wheels. We worked with Grace a little bit last summer....but she didn't quite get it. However, I am pleased as punch to say that she officially is riding her bike on her own! Elijah didn't totally get it yet....but he is almost there. We then headed to DQ for a special "reward" treat for the kids for their effort....and topped the day off with a trip to the park. What a great day!

Best Buds

So for the past several months my little baby Nathan has much preferred Daddy over me! I don't know if this is just a stage or from here on out I will be second fiddle. In some ways I think it is so sweet....and other it is just so sad. He was such a mamma's boy before and now he refuses to come to me when daddy is around. Literally I have to fake cry to get him to come to me. Maybe it's because daddy has been traveling more?

Easter!

We really were sad that Papo and Grandma Suzanne couldn't be here for Easter....but it's always an enjoyable day! The day started out with of course Easter baskets. Although we scaled back quite a bit this year.....with just water guns for all....and a few chocolate bunnies and a few other chocolates, the kids didn't seem to mind at all. We actually went to church early this week because friends of ours came with us....and I was in the nursery for the 11:00 service. After church we ate leftovers....yes I know....I would have preferred to make a big meal.....but David said he didn't mind at all. Then the hunt began! And 2009 proved to be pretty amazing. It was a 4 phase hunt including the front, back, side, and cement slab and all the kids loved it! Daddy didn't go easy on them either hiding eggs by the direct tv dish and such. I particularly love seeing them all dolled up!

The Visit

This past week we had such a great time with David's parents! They came in on the train on Friday....and left the following Saturday. The kids loved just being able to hang out with them. At any given time Grandma and Grandpa had at least one child on them! One day Grandma, Grace and I beaded necklaces and the boys built a bird house. The girls also went out and had a pedicure at a local school here! It wasn't the spa....but still a fun memory! We watched movies, played rook, went out to dinner. And it was really special that they could also be here for Micah's 4th Birthday! We wish we were closer so they could be with our kids on a regular basis.

Bubbles, Basketball, and Pudding!

This week is pretty exciting because Papo and Grandma Suzanne are here! And the best part is that Daddy is on vacation too. So instead of going anywhere crazy for Spring break we have decided just to hang around and spend time with the Grandparents. We are having so much fun just doing little stuff and enjoying the weather. Grandma Suzanne and Papo always make sure to spoil the kids plenty. They got to go and pick out some toys. They got Nathan a bubble gun and what seems like a lifetime supply of bubbles. Everyone was having fun with them. We've been playing some basketball too....even Grandma Suzanne got in on it. We have gone out to eat....celebrated Micah's birthday (pics to come) and got stuff to bead with Grandma, and the kids are going to make a bird house with Papo. Gotta love the simple things in life like eating pudding out on the deck on a nice day!

Miss you Daddy!

So I was asking myself why is it that every time my hubby goes TDY to warm weather we get a snowstorm....which requires ME to shovel the snow. I think the Lord is trying to teach me a lesson and that is to appreciate all that my husband does around here! David I love you and can't wait for you to come home! We are busy little bees getting ready for Grandpa and Grandma....but looking forward to our time off. Now I don't want to give you the impression that I haven't had any fun while you have been away. I have been entertaining myself quite nicely after the kids go to bed messing around with some pictures. Here's one of David's sister from last Thanksgiving.....she looks like such a model.

Fish Guts!

Daddy got to go ice fishing with his boss last weekend. The spoils didn't reflect the amount of fun had.....but their were a few fish to clean once he got home. I was joking with David that I let him come home unless he brought home some coveted Walleye. I think David secretly got rid of them to ensure another outing. I was amused with how much the kids loved watching David clean the fish. They all gathered around super daddy to watch him....and were all very impressed with daddy's talents. I love how Gracie is posing by the fish guts.....cracks me up.
