A busy 4th!

It was the first time we were home to celebrate the 4th. While we missed being with family we definitely had a great day! In the morning we headed to the parade downtown. You know that you are in a military town when fighter jets flying in formation and a blackhawk started off the parade. The kids enjoyed the parade despite the fact that it was 2 hours long and they didn't get as much candy because the city wouldn't allow anybody to throw it. We then headed home to enjoy some BBQ ribs and all the fixings with friends. Later on after friends left we attempted to go meet some more friends by the river for fireworks and got rained out. We ended up going home and the rain cleared so we stopped by Gracie's best friends house where the kids enjoyed helping light lots of fireworks(yes they were very safe).....and we had a perfect view of the town fireworks. Montana is absolutely amazing for the fourth because every where you look you can see big fireworks going off...in parking lots.....all over the street....it was so funny and foreign for us.

They're Back!

So I really love this time of year. Especially the one thing I didn't have to change with our landscaping....and that is all our lily's we have. They are so fun....love them!

Patience pays off!

So for 2 years now I have been searching for the perfect chandelier for Gracie's room. And I finally found one after a detour at Home Depot(we were looking for landscaping items for our yard). I have checked there many times.....but they must have just gotten this one in. And I have to say David has many hidden talents. Not only is he a brilliant doctor he is EXTREMELY handy at home. It seems like he has been busy doing project after project around here. From landscaping, to fixing broken water lines to the fridge, oh and my favorite hanging Gracie's beautiful fixture.

Everyone's Happy!

Lately we have been taking advantage of Summer and hanging out at a local little free spray park. The kids absolutely love going there and my girlfriends and I do too because we can sit and gab while the kids hang out and run through the sprayers and have a picnic lunch. It's really a win win situation.

Viva Las Vegas!

David and I just got back from the most wonderful 10th anniversary getaway! We decided to go to Las Vegas because it's about the only place you can fly reasonably from this town! David did an amazing job of planning our little trip....and he hit it out of the park! We stayed at the Bellagio which was breathtaking (and somehow ridiculously cheap), had amazing meals, laid by the pool, went shopping, and saw Cirque Du Solei's "Mystere". Really it was such a wonderful time of being just "us". I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband who desires to lavish me with his love.

Activity director

As of last Friday Summer has officially arrived with Gracie finishing school. Well at least I think it's summer....the weather doesn't seem to get it. So that means it's time for lots of fun and lots of activities to keep them busy. We've had a couple of inside days already due to the cold temps so I have been whipping out the big guns.....a.k.a. painting supplies. The kids have also enjoyed having friends over for play dates as well. Everybody except Elijah got in on the painting action. I think Nathan's painting was quite interesting as it reminded me of a big brown....well you know. I guess he was painting something familiar. I had to watch him carefully though at one point he took a swig of his paint water....yuck. Elijah can be quite creative when all other options for play are off the table. He made the coolest lego ship....and said to me "mom, I like having the legos mixed up because then I can make my own lego creations". He then explained all the features on his ship....it even included and escape pod and a swinging gun. I am sure their will be many more lego things to show and tell.

Tree Huggin with Friends

A couple weekends ago we went to dinner with friends that are moving and afterward we went back to our place to let the kids play and hang out. The kids had tons of fun hanging like monkeys from our tree in the front. I actually really don't like this tree because it's hideous looking with about 8 trunks. However, the only benefit is that it is a pretty cool climbing tree. I suppose my kids are going to miss climbing on it....as we are going to replace it with a new tree....one that actually looks like a tree. We are going really going to miss our friends and we know our kids will miss their kids as well.
